The Youth Squad is for athletes aged 12-15 and is focused on building fitness, endurance, and sport-specific skills.
The Youth Competitve Progam focuses on fun, flexibility, and an introduction to racing. The program provides incredible freedom to give these young athletes an opportunity to cross-train while participating in other sports, or focus only on triathlon. Athletes are free to choose their training commitment from any tier. Note that in the indoor season, we recommend that athletes < 14 years focus on swim and run sessions and bike only as part of the Saturday brick (bike/run) session. Note that our Youth Swim Coach, Isabella, is on deck on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to provide extra swim support and technique-focused sessions for this squad.
In this age group our youth coaches spend the time developing the basics of each discipline; building the core blocks for success later. Athletes in this squad largely participate in local and provincial events.
