About the Edmonton Triathlon Academy
The History
The Edmonton Triathlon Academy ( ETA) is the result of over a decade of dedication, hard work, and a positive, "can-do" attitude spearheaded by the Edmonton World Cup Board of Directors. At the heart of its inception was Sheila O'Kelly, whose vision was to establish Edmonton as Canada's premier triathlon city.
The Success
Founded in 2013, the ETA has played a pivotal role in nurturing young athletes in the sport of triathlon. The academy focused not only on athletic development but on cultivating the mental resilience and life skills that benefit athletes both inside and outside of sport. Under the leadership of Kevin Clark, who served as Head Coach from 2013-2025, athletes of the ETA have achieved remarkable success, including national-level recognition, participation in the Canada Summer Games, provincial championships, Alberta Summer Games titles, and junior high/high school championships.
The New Direction
As the ETA shifts its focus to fostering youth development, we are excited to share the sport of triathlon with young athletes and their families.
